mooebn.com 10/26/09 – 12/19/09
12.19.09
It is with sadness that I announce the death of mooebn.com. It lived a very short life (54 days and 335 posts) and will be missed by all. Well, not all…very few in fact. When we first launched it, we had a good 20 or so readers (says Google Analytics). Last week we were down to around 12 and this week we’ve been at a solid 8. Now to those 8 of you, I say THANK YOU for your support and your interest. It was really fun for me to seek out good deals and share them with you. I would continue to do it for fun (because it really is quite fun!) but it took a lot of my time, time that would be better spent taking care of my two little ones. I realize the only way for a blog like this to be successful and competitive and unique (and worth everyone’s time) is if it were constantly being updated and honestly I’m not at a place in my life where I can do that.
So…
I lay mooebn to rest. In so doing, I’d like to thank the following people: My husband whose brainchild this was and who programmed this baby. My sons who loved me even when I was too busy for them. My SIL Gina who was the author of 42 out of 44 comments on this blog. My other readers who silently cheered me on. And finally, my resources for mooebn content. There are so many great deal sites and frugal blogs out there. I’d like to refer you to some of my favorites…
Again, thanks for reading. May you find joy and satisfaction in all your future frugal endeavors!

U-Promise: January ECoupons
01.06.10
There are new e-coupons available for U-Promise this month. I am a little embarrassed that it is already the 6th and I am just getting to the beginning of the month reminders but make sure you don’t miss these because they are really good! My favorites are the Huggies coupons- usually we see $1 or $1.50 but this month there is a $1 coupon, a $2 coupon and a $3 coupon depending on what type you buy! So if you are not familiar with U Promise you can read more HERE. Basically you just create an account HERE and add all your debit/credit and store cards. They have a system of stores that participate in the program- for me CVS, Safeway, and Raleys all participate but it will depend on the stores in your area. I believe Food Lion, Harris Teeter and lots more stores around the country participate. When you buy a participating item at one of the stores- say I buy Huggies at CVS- then the amount of the e-coupon is added to my savings account. So I don’t get $2 off my purchase, instead I get $2 added to my savings account. The account can then be used to save for college for the kids, pay off existing loans etc.. This can turn into a really great deal and is worth the time to register. If you look at the Huggies example it would look like this: Huggies Overnights are $7.99 this week at Raley’s. I can buy them and use a $2 manufacturer coupon. So I will pay $5.99 which is a good price. BUT since I have U Promise on my debit card- when I go to pay for the diapers another $2 is automatically added to my U Promise savings account. A good deal gets even better with almost no extra effort needed! Just register once and every month the e-coupons change. You just need to add them to your card and that is it!

Custom Tote $4.41 Shipped
01.06.10
Remember the custom totes I told you about HERE? Well I got mine and wanted to show you what they look like! It is about 2 inches thick and I think the design I chose was a little light. You might select a brighter image. Otherwise it seems like a pretty sturdy bag and it is bigger than I thought! This is perfect for magazines, books or stray papers. I always have a million printable coupons waiting to be cut and inserts I haven’t cut yet- so this is going to be the designated coupon bag for me. You can still order one HERE- the tote is free and shipping is about $4.00.

Restaurant.com has $25 gift certificates marked down to just $5 right HERE. Use promo code CHOW and they are also offering a bonus $10 certificate with order. So get $35 for just $5! As always you will want to read the find print of the restaurant you select to be sure there aren’t any restrictions as to hours or days of use.

Great Deal on Aquafina at Walgreens!
01.06.10
You will need the coupon from the front page of this week’s ad for $3.99 for a 24pk of water. There is a Register Reward deal when you spend $20 in Pepsi items, get a $10 Register Reward. The deal is baded off the original price of the water ($5.99)- so it looks like this: Buy 4 cases at $3.99= $15.96 Get a $10 Register Reward back, making the net cost $5.96 for 4 cases of water. The coupons states limit 2. Some stores enforce those limits and some do not. You will want to ask at your store if you can purchase 4! Thanks Bargain Buggy!
There is a great deal to be had at Walgreens on bottled water- but this may not work in every store.
The Amazon Deal of the Day today is fitness bundles for just $19.99 from $54! You can choose from Yoga, Pilates, Dance and Fit Ball workouts. This is the Deal of the Day which means the sale only lasts until they run out of inventory!
